INTERNATIONAL SONG FESTIVAL “SERRA DA ESTRELA” – (SEIA – PORTUGAL) 2019 – 5th Edition

EUROSINGERS 2019 – 16th season

Second Prize for the Canarian artist PATRICIA MONTESDEOCA The international promotion program “Eurosingers – Canarias Canta en Europa”, which has the collaboration of the Government of the Canary Islands and AIE, is organized by ORFEUM Organization of Festivals and Artists, an institution integrated in ALFA Alliance of Festivals Associations. On this occasion, the participation was held in the city of Seia (Portugal) from August 20 to 25, at the International Song Festival “Serra da Estrela”.

The Spanish delegation has been composed of: Patricia Montesdeoca Estévez: Singer (participant), Elena María García Ceballos: General Secretary of Orfeum Organization of European Music Festivals (festival production and participant in the ALFA Alliance of Festivals Associations meetings) Guillermo Albelo Martín: President of Orfeum Organization of European Music Festivals (president of the jury of the festival and participant in the meetings of the ALFA Alliance of Festivals Associations).

A total of 49 artists from Portugal, Spain, Romania, Russia, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Estonia, Lithuania and Poland participated in the two days of competition. The final gala was held on Saturday, August 24 and the Canarian artist PATRICIA MONTESDEOCA won the SECOND PRIZE after two excellent performances. It has been his first participation at international level and he returns satisfied to his land with the prize and with several invitations to other European festivals. A great experience of competition with artists from other countries, learning, friendship and collaboration that will continue in the coming months and that is a starting point towards new artistic goals.

Bilateral and joint meetings of ALFA members were also held, evaluating the level of the artists presented and proposing new activities for the next dates. ORFEUM thanks Canarias Cultura en Red and AIE for all the collaboration provided for the development of the activity and hopes that this support can be increased in the coming seasons of EUROSINGERS.
