THE CANARY ISLANDS SING IN EUROPE
The Tenerife singer ROBERT MÁTCHEZ will travel to Latvia on August 13 to participate in the great international concert “Ramoind Pauls”, in the city of Daugavpili.
Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, ROBERT MÁTCHEZ, or Roberto Matos Sánchez, at the age of 29, do now his fourth international participation. The first, also in Latvia in 2010 where he was one of the founders of the European Youth Choir within the activities of the Latvian Song and Dance Festival. The second in 2011 participating in the Wafa International Concert, in Malta. Last year was his third international appointment, getting the second prize at the Kaunas Talent Festival.
He has extensive experience in the musical field. Numerous concerts as a soloist or with his band, having participated in several musicals: “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Evita”, “Sunset Bulevard”, “Beauty and the Beast” and “Chicago”, among others, representing in the Canary Islands and Madrid . Some of them under the direction of Jaime Azpilicueta. He has been the winner of the Candelaria Festival. With one of the composers of the winning song, Guillermo Albelo, he has collaborated as a soloist on the album “Steps on the wáter” by the band Etcétera, directed by the composer, performing the song “Summer Tides”
He is director and producer of the company Medley Producciones, has studied musical theater and currently shares his musical career between the Canary Islands and Madrid. The concert will take place on August 16 and all participants from Ukraine, Latvia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Poland, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Estonia, Finland, Russia, Lithuania and Spain, will be accompanied by the festival’s orchestra. To this end, they will conduct rehearsals in Riga, capital of Latvia, on days 14 and 15 and general rehearsal, on the morning of the concert on the concert’s grand stage.
ORFEUM Organization of European Music Festivals is the institution that manages this new international participation through its program “Eurosingers – The Canary Islands sing in Europe”, in its 15th season and with the collaboration of AIE.
