The “Fernando Luis González Pavilion”, in the municipality of Santa Úrsula (Tenerife) has hosted the celebration of the UNIVERSONG Final Gala – The Canary Islands International Song Festival.

Artists from Portugal, Cuba, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Hungary, Lithuania, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, Argentina, Israel, Czech Republic and Spain were present at the 18th edition of this international music event that has been held since 2001 in Tenerife and in which, artists from 59 countries around the world have participated since its inception.

This important event has been organized by ORFEUM European Music Festivals Organization together with the Santa Úrsula City Council and has had the collaboration of:

Government of the Canary Islands, SGAE Foundation, Maritim Hotel, Initiatives and Tourism Center of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Mas Pro Music, Tabaiba Media Comunicación, Hotel El Tope, Masaru Apartments and Hotel Weare La Paz.

The festival has been produced for TV and will soon be broadcast on almost 100 TV channels with a wide broadcast and the consequent promotion for the participating artists, for the municipality of Santa Úrsula, for Tenerife and for the Canary Islands.

The International Jury of this unique competition in Spain, through its votes, gave the following participants as winners:

ADULT CATEGORY

FIRST FRIZE – GOLDEN “TABAIBA”- MIGUEL KOSTA (Cuba)

SECOND PRIZE – SILVER “TABAIBA”- JENNY & FREDDY (Italy / Germany)

THIRD PRIZE – BRONZE “TABAIBA”- OMAR DE LA ROZ (Cuba)

JUNIOR CATEGORY

FIRST PRIZE – GOLDEN “TABAIBA” – MARIANA PINHEIRO (Portugal)

SECOND PRIZE – SILVER “TABAIBA” – SARA MONTEIRO (Portugal)

THIRD PREMIO – BRONZE “TABAIBA”- KAROLINA ZIEMLICKA (Polond)

The rest of the participants also received different awards in recognition of their musical talent, voice and interpretation.. Junior category: Magali Vieira (Portugal), Medy (Hungary), Dobrinka Batsanova (Bulgaria), Caterina Saccani (Italy), Adrijana Balsyté (Lithuania), Samanta Vaicikauskaité (Lithuania) y Mariafrancesca (Italia). En la categoría adulta: Jéssica Ros (Spain), Mario Krastev (Bulgaria), Karelia (Cuba), Daria Englot (Polond), Carina Amarante (Portugal), Simona Sivanio (Bulgaria) y Serap Yenici (Turkey).

The high musical level of all the participants started, on multiple occasions, the applause of the audience during the two hours and fifteen minutes of the contest.

Among the guest artists were the performances of the Canarian artists Ariann, Árgel Campos, Dúo Yasmé, Miriam Reyes and the Hyperium and Sugar Fresh ballets. Also with the performances of the duet “Shadow” (Switzerland) and “Sharita” (Czech Republic).

The multicolored melody of the flags of the 15 countries present at UNIVERSONG 2019 was a great gift for the public and a message of peace and union of the people through music and culture.

Once again, Tenerife has been an important meeting point for international music.
